Product Description

HTI Protective Clothing Heat Transmission Testing Equipment Refer to ISO9151

A new term heat transfer index (HTI) has been introduced to avoid confusion with the thermal protective index (TPI) or other terms used in previous versions of this test.

HTI is calculated from the mean time in seconds to achieve a temperature rise of 24±0.2ºC when testing by this method using a copper disc and a starting temperature of 25±5ºC. This equipment is used to determine the heat transmission of flame exposure to protective clothing against heat and flames.

A classification of materials can be made by comparing the determined heat transfer indices, which serve as a reference for the relative heat transfer under the specified test conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the Heat Transfer Index (HTI)? A1: HTI is the mean time in seconds required to achieve a temperature rise of 24±0.2ºC in the copper calorimeter when the specimen is exposed to a specific heat flux.
Q2: Which international standards does this equipment meet? A2: The equipment is fully compliant with ISO 9151 and EN 367 standards for determining heat transmission in protective clothing.
Q3: What heat flux is applied during testing? A3: A constant incident heat flux of 80 kW/m2 is applied to the specimen using a Meker burner.
Q4: Does the software support automatic calibration? A4: Yes, the system includes software that automatically performs the calibration of heat flow density to ensure precise testing conditions.
Q5: How is the testing time shortened between cycles? A5: The equipment is equipped with a specialized calorimeter cooling device that reduces the waiting time between consecutive tests.
Q6: What gas supply is required for the burner? A6: The system requires a supply of propane and air-compressed air for the Meker burner to function correctly.
